Job Description
The Cloud Team at Leica develops the central web application which integrates the different systems, synchronizes files, manages remote support and handles data visualization. The Cloud Team currently consists of 25 people including the product management team. The Tech lead is the technical driving force in our team.

As Tech lead you are the team senior architect within both Python and web development, with a strong personal motivation, sense of quality, excellent communication skills and the ability to steer a skilled and growing team to success. The primary purpose of the role is to develop software as well as assuming the leadership role, contributing to all aspects of the software development cycle. You will be responsible for the technical roadmap, adhering to architectural guide lines, owning the technical back log as well as ensuring that the product meets current and upcoming demands.

The following are a few of the responsibilities of this role:
  • Develop the technical roadmap for the ConX product
  • Manage the development of the application by conducting own research, communicating and driving the team output to greater technical heights
  • Provide expertise on key aspects of the development work, by proposing appropriate technical architecture solutions
  • Initiate and plan new projects
  • Contribute to all aspects of the software development life cycle; from design and specification to testing and documentation, in line with approved project plans and the Product Roadmap.
Qualifications
Experienced Tech lead/senior architect within Python, cloud computing and web development.

You must have a background as a developer in Python, Linux, databases and Git for several years. You should have experience to some extent with AWS, Django, relational databases and NoSQL databases. Experience in Javascript, Angular, HTML5, CSS3, Jenkins and/or web-based 3D development and modelling (such as general WebGL or maps with CesiumJS) is meriting. Experience working in a team on an international environment i.e. cross-site collaboration is also desirable.
